Always burn your candle on a level surface away from drafts and NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
Always protect your surfaces, particularly highly polished surfaces and wood as the candle tin WILL get hot.
Avoid touching the tin while the candle is burning and until it has fully cooled down and the wax has reset, to avoid burns and spillages.
On your first candle burn, I recommend that you burn the candle for at least 3 hours. This allows the melt pool to reach all edges of the candle and avoids tunnelling. Tunnelling is not what you want for your candle as it means you're not using up enough wax and you end up with a 'tunnel' effect running down the centre of your candle, all that lovely wasted wax! Always trim the top of your wick with a wick trimmer between each light, to around 5mm. This stops the flame from getting too big which means that your candle will have less burning time.
